Hah! So I did not write 2 sentences every day. In fact, I got so caught up in things that I totally forgot to make a July post! I’m a little disappointed that it didn’t happen (both the July post and the writing of the two sentences), but then again, work has gotten busy, I had an accident and hurt my back, and we’ve been travelling a lot. Stuff happens! My other daily habits have also fallen to the wayside…but that makes sense - it’s hard to do dead hangs when it’s physically painful! Thankfully, I didn’t break anything, so the recovery isn’t too long - I’m almost back to 100% now!
It’s been a really nice summer. I have chipped away pretty well on two of the aforementioned projects - the city puzzle hunt #2 is almost done, and my sequel to Strak’s Bad Day is coming along.
A friend recommended a book called “Page One to Done” to me - I really like some of the strategies in it, especially the “invisible edits” idea. One of my writer friends has suggested the same thing to me before, but I’ve been bad about implementing it. It’s hard to edit a story if you’re not even sure where it’s going! It’s best to put the whole thing on paper before going back and changing things around.
I’ve got a whole bunch of travel and fun stuff coming up (hello, FanExpo!), but I’m looking forward to writing more when life settles down a little :)
